Learn Search Engine Optimization Guide
How To learn search engine optimization
If you want to learn search engine optimization or SEO and internet marketing, then you may not know where to start. There is a lot of misconception on the internet in general about learning search engine optimization.
Many internet marketers are misinformed about how to get listed at the top of Google and the other engines.
Not to say all internet marketers are bad. I have learned a lot of good quality marketing information from some of them over the last 20 years.
But, you have to put it in perspective. I can assure you, optimization is not blasting spam articles all over the web in hopes of higher rankings.
For some, these black hat techniques may work for the short-term and this may be their goal.
However, if you want to learn real tried and true things for seo, that will make you successful with your blog or website, then I am going to point you in the right direction and really teach you how to learn search engine optimization.
But before we get started with the SEO training I want to mention this.
Don’t Put All Your Traffic Eggs In One Basket
This is the first thing I want you to learn about online marketing in general. Never trust all your traffic to only one source period!
Spending time to learn search engine optimization is awesome and can be a really good thing for your company, blog or website.
But after you master SEO, learn other ways to get traffic to a website. I don’t care if it’s through PPC (pay per click) or other free and paid sources.
This way if something ever happens to your website traffic from seo, you will have other ways to get visitors to your website.
Starting With Your Content
Many people tend to roll their eyes when it come to this but the fact remains true. Good quality content can be at the helm of a good SEO and promotion campaign.
I have seen it many times over the years, especially noobs getting started. All they think about is the money. While making money is not inherently bad,
If that’s all you think about, it’s possible to fail even if you have much success.
I have seen many stories over the years, where people were making money and lots of it just gaming Google and the system, only to lose it all in the end.
Now, with all that said, my point is, why make hundreds of sites in different markets, you know nothing about? Sure, it can be done.
But my approach is usually making sites in markets I know and then building up those websites in many ways including adding an email list and other quality content.
Yes, without an email list, it’s called “Hit and run marketing”, which you can lose at any given moment if you are spread too thin.
So, if you take the quality approach, then you want to focus on quality content people want to link to and spread around the internet freely. Just think how you can help others and things will come to mind.

Where to start with SEO
So, let’s get you to a few resources to start to learn search engine optimization properly.
First I want to point you to a couple of places where you can read good information. Here are the first few links where you can read how to get started.
Then watch this video from SEL (Search Engine land). Which is a great resource to learn search engine optimization.
These are enough to get you started down the path to proper search engine placement. I would study these as much as you can.
These will give you a great beginning right from some of the best resources which will not steer you wrong.
After these I would read Google’s webmasters blog and get information straight from the source. Search this blog with all the questions you have.
You will find tons of quality information straight from Google.
Remember some marketers mean well, but many are misinformed. Things are changing with Seo all the time and you want to get the right information.
So, you will find when you learn search engine optimization, it doesn’t ever really stop. Search engines like Google are always evolving and changing and trying to get better.

Next move on to Link-building.
link-building is an important part of how to learn search engine optimization. You can increase your rankings and even get traffic from good links.
However, bad link building information runs rampant on the internet. Many people will tell you to build links from articles, forums, directories and many other junk places.
Some of these can actually be used, for instance with articles you could publish a few articles on good quality relevant blogs or even find quality relevant directories. Spamming links all over the place is not the way to go I assure you.
The one resource I turn to over and over again for linkbuilding is Eric Ward. There are many others but I would trust Mr Wards advice over just about all of them.
The biggest thing about building links is to obtain them from good quality relevant websites or blogs.
You will have to build much fewer links when you know what you are doing. One way quality links are the best. Also, on the subject of quality is content.
Create Linkable Assets, aka Link-bait
Good quality content will earn you links on their own. Remember to write your best quality content for however many blogs or sites you have.
However, on the topic of good quality content also comes linkable assets. This is the creation of something your audience really cares about and is usually an ultimate source.
Want an example? Check out Neil Patel’s guide to advanced content marketing. Now, Neil was not always this thorough with his content, but he learned what his audience really wanted to see and would ultimately link to.
In other words, he satisfied a need. And when you satisfy a need like this, people will link to your resource, spreading link love through out your site.
Publishing great content like this also helps you look like an authority on your subject.
Want another example? Check out this Google search for all of Neil’s guides. When, you publish this many guides with all that good content, people will link back to you.
Of course, you will have to promote your new guides but, make enough of them and spread the word about them, and you will get links. It’s that simple.
Remember, it’s about helping people. Once you do that, and enough of it. You will be amazed at how people help you back.
This is one of the first things I learned about online marketing since 1994. There are real people on the other end.
Site design and usability.
Another topic that is important for how to learn search engine optimization is your site or blog design.
Because it’s ultimately about user experience. Engines like Google, want to see they are sending their customers to good quality sites.
So it pays to learn how to structure a website or blog, not only so it’s easier for a search engine to read but also so a visitor can easily navigate it.
Doing this will decrease site bounce rates and help a search engine see your website is legit.
I would also start learning about Google Analytics so you can learn how to properly track your website.
Learning Analytics will teach you how to properly take advantage of stats that will allow you to see how visitors are using your site. This way you can make changes and get better conversions.
Also, start learning to interlink your pages properly for a better user experience. This also shows the engines you are not a spam content farm.
Website or blog architecture is very important to seo. There are two main reasons for this.
The first one is so website visitors can find things on your site easily and the second is so search engine spiders understand your site properly and can rank all your pages accordingly.
Many new webmasters throw up a site blindly and never think about the structure of their site.
